Privacy Notice

This notice explains what personal data StudyMeter collects and how it is used, in line with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). The data user responsible for your personal data is Zuvaro Tiga Ratus Enam Puluh (Zuvaro360), SSM 202603291667 (003905845-V).

What we collect

• Account: your name, email address and password (stored securely by our hosting provider), or your Google sign-in.
• Profile: your @username, display name and — if you sign up with a university email — the university name from that email.
• Study data you add: subjects, topics, study hours, schedule, timetable, tutorials, files, study sessions and notes.
• Social data: friend requests, friends, blocks, reports and in-app notifications.
• Plan and payment: your trial dates, whether you have Pro, and a record of your purchase (amount, date and payment status). Card and bank details are entered directly with Stripe — we never receive or store them.

Is it compulsory?

Your name and email are needed to create an account. Everything else is optional — you choose what study data to add and what to share. If you don't provide your email, we can't create an account for you.

Who can see what

• Your study hours, topic progress, schedule and timetable: only you.
• Your files and tutorial links: only you, plus accepted friends for subjects you choose to share.
• Search shows only your display name, @username and university — never your email. You can turn search off in Friends → your profile.
• Study session details: the host and the people they invite.
• Our team may access data when needed to run the service, investigate a report, handle a payment question, or when required by law.

Who we share it with

• Stripe, our payment processor, to handle Pro payments.
• Our cloud hosting provider, which stores the app and its data on our behalf.
• Authorities, only when required by law.
• We don't sell your personal data or use it for advertising.

Why we use it

• To run the app and its features (sharing, reminders, notifications).
• To manage your free trial, process Pro payments and confirm your access.
• To keep the community safe (reports, blocks, removing content).
• To improve StudyMeter.

Where it's stored and how long we keep it

• Data is stored with a cloud hosting provider whose servers may be outside Malaysia. Files are stored privately and are only downloadable through short-lived links.
• We keep your data while your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except payment records we must keep for tax and accounting law (usually 7 years).

Security and data breaches

We protect your data with access controls and private file storage. If a data breach affects your personal data, we will notify the Personal Data Protection Commissioner and, where required, tell you as soon as possible.

Your rights

• Access, correct or delete your data — most of it directly in the app.
• Ask for a copy of your data, including in a format you can take elsewhere.
• Withdraw consent by deleting your account (you can no longer use StudyMeter after that).
• Hide yourself from search, remove friends or block people.

Under 18

If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should agree to you using StudyMeter and to this notice.
